GTX 650 TI Boost for 13.50€. Good or Bad deal?

Sanedish

Hi, i recently bought an GTX 650 TI Boost at an auction for 13.50€ and since its an 10 year old GPU I was wondering if it can still game and if I got a good deal on it. The card seems to be in pretty Good condition and has 2gb of Vram. I don't have it yet though, so I can't tell more.

Also: can it still somewhat game? I mean, it supports DX12 as far as I know, so it should be ok I guess...

Depends which games. It was discontinued from it's drivers so probably not any new games but it can still run stuff like Overwatch 2, CS2, GTA 5 and Dota 2 all at 1080p but low settings all round. It can even run fortnite at 1080p (but with performance mode on low settings

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

It'll game, but I would advise you to temper your expectations. Be prepared to turn settings and resolution way down, and don't expect modern games to run well, if at all.

Almost any modern Ryzen APU will likely outperform it in terms of graphics capability.

Yeah, I used a 970 for 1440p gaming until early last year and it was not great. It might work, but I would always keep an eye out for a possible upgrade.

Depending on the games you're playing, it might still be a good GPU. If I remember correctly, the 650Ti Boost was pretty close to a GTX 660 in terms of performance, so so it wasn't such a bad GPU.

Regarding the price, it depends a lot. For example, in Romania (where I'm from) even old hardware such as GTX 280 can cost around 10 euros or more, so in this context, the 650Ti Boost would be a pretty good deal. For the more recent games it would struggle pretty hard at 1080p, but for some CS2 / League of Legends, it will do the job.

PC specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X // GPU: ASUS TUF RX 6800 XT // RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z Neo // MB: MSI B550-A Pro // PSU: Corsair RM850 // Case: Lian Li Lancool II Mesh C Performance // CPU Cooler: beQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4

I did not expect annything 4090ish from it and i am certainly not gonna use it as my main GPU (a 3080 is still a bit faster) and just wanted to know if i got scammed since it is already 10 years old, i personally thought it was a good deal, but i wanted to validate that by other people who might also already had one before and know how it performs.

Anyways thanks for all the Feedback, i appreciate it ^^

It's $13.50 , You will spend more than that for a cinema ticket so i wouldn't think too much about validation.
