7800XT or 6950XT? 5120x1440

Just bought an Odyssey Neo G9 49 inch monitor. My poor 6600XT can't really drive it in games (no surprise there) and I'm trying to decide between:

Gigabyte RX7800 XT OC $675 CAD

XFX Speedster MERC319 RX6950 XT $800 CAD

 Looking to run games in medium/high at 100 FPS or higher. Not using ray tracing or FSR or anything like that. (Should I be running FSR?)

 Any recommendations? Is the RX6950 worth the extra $125 CAD?
 

System Specs: Second-class potato, slightly mouldy
