Final refinement on first PC

Go to solution Solved by Guille.R,

Seems fine, although here are some recomendations:

1- You don't need sucha beefy cooler, if u had gone with a aio for aesthetics a 240mm would probably be more than enough

2- Get CL30 Ram for best performance. If u want them white try any of this ones: corsairteamgroup or gskill although realistically any module is gonna perform as good

3- Since you are getting NZXT fans maybe getting an nzxt case like an h9... If not i'd go with the lian-li 011 evo is great in all senses and as beatifull, you also have a lot of options on how to mount the gpu if u want it vertical: https://lian-li.com/product/o11de-2/

Hope i've helped you!

Budget (including currency): $2,000-$2,500 USD

Country: United States of America

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Graphics heavy games, such as Elden Ring, Star Citizen, Assassins Creed, and others.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm coming from a Dell G15 5515 (3050 mobile, ryzen 5 5000h), so I already have mouse, keyboard, etc. and a windows activation key. I'm going to be using two 1080p 120hz monitors, but I plan to upgrade them down the line when I get have the money to do so. In terms of things such as RTX, I don't see myself using it too much, but if it is an option and my computer can run it, I usually do, so I'm not too picky whether I have it or not.

Here is the parts list - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pVwKkJ

I am mainly asking for final refinements, as I am pretty set-in-stone with the general aesthetic and GPU/CPU, though I am somewhat flexible with those. Thank you!

Good

I'd just get faster 6000CL30 RAM and a top performing SN850X SSD instead of the SN770, even if the difference is unnoticeable, because why not ? 🙂

But you could wait for the 4080 super and it should perform at least on par or maybe even better than the 7900 xtx (defo in rtx situations)

Thanks for the advice, I'm switching out the fans for Lian LI's, and upgrading the ram. Do you have any specific suggestions for a 240mm aio? A lot of the ones I'm seeing on NewEgg are more expensive than the 360 I originally had.

Sure, if the 4080S is available and at MSRP (that's 2 "ifs"...) it'll beat the 7900XTX

If not, as your build lets some budget headroom,  I'd go for the  7900XTX Nitro+ (+$100) rather than the cheapest XFX, because it's the best model, highr clock, better cooling  🙂

I was suggesting to go with an air cooler, but if u want the AiO most good models will be expensive than the 360 you had, but I’d get a well known reliable AiO because the last thing u want to fail is the AiO (well and the PSU, ok also the mobo!) I’d recommend the Artic Liquid Frezeer II,  other good AiO is any Corsair H100i they are expensive but very good models there is a problem (or a benefit) that is iCUE, Corsair thinks are thinned to work with iCUE so if u don’t want to use it it’s complicated if u do want to use it is great,  same with nzxt kraken 240, good, pricy and not as much integration thing as Corsair but a little bit. Other good cooler is for what I know the Lian-Li trinity Gallahad II.  EKWB also has pretty good series, maybe a little bit overpriced though.

I'm sorry if i made any spelling mistakes, i'm not an English speaker.
