boot Windows 10/11 boot issue

Hello all,

 

I have a 4 year old Dell Inspiron 15 3582 laptop that is running Windows 11.

 

I decided to try and boot it up a few minutes ago to try and put a couple of files onto it, and for some reason that I still do not know of, the spinning circle at startup just hangs and will not go any further (check the picture).

 

Any help regarding this frustrating issue is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

How long did it take previously for it to boot?

is it possible it got an update last time you shut it down?

I decided to move both of my drives to another laptop I had lying around to see if this issue persists. If it does, I can pinpoint exactly what is wrong. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

 

EDIT 2/16/24: Turns out that it was the 1TB HDD that was causing the issue. So I decided to replace it with a spare Seagate 500GB HDD I had lying around and it booted up just fine. I am thinking the drive is simply dead.
