Software for bass shakers

Do you know how I can use Voicemeeter for the EQ aswell, like @Kilrah mentioned earlier?

Just use Voicemeeter's Banana or Potato versions (I checked now, Banana has it) and its output EQ and ditch APO.

I recently got a bass shaker and amp, and mainly use it for sim racing feedback, but sometimes use it for music too. Currently, I can use Voicemeeter to output through both my speakers AND the bass shaker at the same time. But this leads to the bass shaker recieving all the highs in the songs as well as my speakers. Is there an app I can use as almost a low/high pass filter for either output whilst still using both outputs at once? If not, I can order a cable and simply hook up my (active) speakers to my amp’s audio out, and use the amp output in Windows instead of needig to use multiple at once. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Not sure if it's there in Banana, but at least the "full" Voicemeeter Potato does have per-output EQ and channel selection.

You could give Equalizer APO a shot and see if it works. It's got a bit of a learning curve if you want to set up specific "presets," but I've had great luck with it. I use it personally to drop everything above 120Hz? by 4dB since my sub placement is absolute trash and the satellites will overpower it.

Bass shakers in sim set ups aren't my specialty.
As an FYI my current set up, which has 3 shakers, uses an AVR. The AVR only passes low frequency signals to the shakers, which makes things easier.

One thing you can do, in hardware, is to get a low pass filter of some sort.
Something like this - https://www.amazon.com/FMOD-Crossover-Pair-100-Pass/dp/B0006N41FG

Otherwise... go play with equalizers in software and drag down the higher frequencies for the subwoofer/transducer channel.

So, I installed Equalizer APO and it worked great! Sadly, I don't know how I can run both outputs at once, at least with Voicemeeter. Using EQ APO I can make my bass shaker only play the lows, and leave out anything above 160Hz. This only works when using only the bass shaker.

When running it through Voicemeeter to use both my speakers AND the bass shaker, the EQ doesn't work. If I play Spotify through Voicemeeter and turn my speakers to 0, the bass shaker is still playing the highs, despite EQ APO having it all filtered out.

Does APO have a feature that I can use to play both outputs at once? Or is there another app I can use that works with APO?

That I'm actually not entirely sure about. Unfortunately I don't really have a way to come up with a similar enough setup to yours to find out, either.

See if you can do what you want using only OBS.

I have no experience with Voicemeeter either, I don't want to give you some incorrect advice after spending 5 seconds Googling it and have it fuck your shit up. I was really hoping VM and EAPO would play nice.

This might actually be the stupidest question ever, but do you mean OBS studio? As far as I know isn't OBS just for recording and streaming?

Thanks for your help. Are there any other apps you're aware of that can just merge 2 outputs?

From what I can see others may have possibly had this issue in the past, where EAPO and VM don't work, but I need to wait for my account to be activated by mods to even ask. Literally on the VM sourceforge page it says " integrates into Voicemeeter " so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Also just realised I only have VM standard, not the full version, so I might be able to use only VM if I can EQ each output.

You can have OBS basically intercept most/all audio input and output.

I haven't fiddled with it in a fair bit though and I was using it with Linux, which was a bit hacky.

VM is the only piece of software I've ever heard about that can do it. I know some motherboard audio utilities can do something similar (the ASUS Z170 board I have can), but of course depending on what you're doing and what board you have that may not even be a possibility for you.

Problem solved! I just installed Potato, and everything works seamlessly. Still doesn't explain why EAPO didn't work but this'll certainly do for now. Thanks guys!
