Hi to everyone, as this is the first time I have posted on the website.

I just received a new Dell U2414H IPS monitor as I just made the leap from one monitor to a two screen set up. Unfortunately I am finding that this new monitor looks very washed out and really doesn't touch my old Samsung T220 which is a TN. I made sure that the signal from my gtx770 was the full range of 0-255 which is a known issue with this monitor defaulting to the lower 16-235. But even after this I noticed that the blacks on the monitor and icons on the desktop still were washed out. I waited until it got darker tonight so I could check for any clouding or light bleed. From what I saw when I took a picture(See attached) the backlight is really "blotchy" and there is a strip of brighter light in the bottom left corner.

My question is whether this is acceptable on a new monitor as my wife's LG IPS screen may have some bleed its at least uniform across the panel and honestly shows a lot better colours.

Any suggestions about RMAing as I am thinking of sending it right back but I would like some reassurance that I'm not being too picky.

Many thanks in advance, BK.
