Hi guys,

While I was using diskutil thru the terminal, I notice that in APFS there's a flag for defragment.

I have a TimeMachine HDD that uses APFS so I turn it on.

Does that flag do anything ? Why is it so hidden, it seems like a pretty useful thing for someone who still uses HDDs.

APFS was created and is optimized for the Flash/SSD storage. I think Apple assumes that you would use Mac OS Extended for an HDD as many of the speed and performance improvements of APFS do not work on a HDD.
