I know this is probably sacriledge to post on a PC mainly forum. But im searching for a Rackmount DAS storage option that’ll support MacOS. 
 

Searched lots online and most come up as non rackmounted options. 
 

Not against using a non rackmounted option just perfer a rackmounted option

When you say DAS do you need the external storage to handle any RAID/disk pooling or do you intend to do that via Mac OS itself? 

 

Typically most Thunderbolt systems do the RAID themselves, also any NAS from QNAP/Synology with Thunderbolt port will do what you want since that is the same thing anyway.

LACIE  is also another brand that many Mac users buy and offers what you need most likely, they have rackmount options.

Yeah i plan on using the DAS for extra media storage beyond my NAS. 
 

right now it’ll be NAS + a expansion for the NAS (that’ll run raid & be a failure backup) 

 

and wanted to get a DAS to do a backup for the backups thats kept exclusively private & local
