Decided I don't really need a lot of storage all at once. I can always add more later. Plus after reading reviews and watching video gameplay, the RX 7900 XTX is much better than the RTX 4080. Especially when IW9 launcher for Warzone is optimized for AMD.

Budget (including currency): 5000 CAD (Taxes Included; 13%)

Country: Canada

Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/3/Warzone, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, GTA V, Minecraft, Forza Horizon Series, Adobe Products (CC), VS Studio, PyCharm, Lots of Google Tabs

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): The goal is to be able to play above 200FPS on Warzone. I will need to upgrade my monitors too since I want to play in 2k or 4k. Need suggestions on whether its better to play in 2k or 4k in terms of frames. Also, I am unsure if there will be any issues with bottlenecking or lagging.

If you have this budget, then a brand new build is better, but if you rlly want to just upgrade, a 5800X3D is a better option, and a 4080 does NOT cost 1900$, and you should get a 7900xtx, performs better, has more vram, while costing less

I could see a 4080 costing 1900 cad. Thats only 1400 usd, still a little pricy though.

Don't waste your money on this build making it look pretty. You'd be better off going to a newer platform with DDR5 and just getting cheaper components. 240 cad on fans is ridiculous. The 7800x3d is literally cheaper.

Edit:

I just went back and looked at canada Pcpartpicker and you can get a 7800x3d with 32gb ddr5 and a 4090 for cheaper. This isn't even with obvious cost cuts.

Okay cool! I looked at the AM5 but wasn't sure what kind of memory I could get that was cheap but with really good timings which I missed. I went with an AIO instead of air-cooled only cause I figured it might provide better thermals.

In terms of those case fans I looked and saw there was Lian Li that was around $40 for a 3-pack. I will have this PC in a confined area so that's why I was trying to get the best thermals but still going to make the computer hot regardless since it's confined.

Do you have a picture of the area along with the measurements? You can get creative with cooling to save money. Even still you could get a more expensive case and many fans and still likely be better off.

It currently sits in a custom cabinet with dimensions of 24" (L) x 13" (W) and a clearance of 18" (H). I was thinking of changing out the cabinet with a different design. This includes a custom window using plexiglass so that way you can see where the computer is but the only issue is since it is on the left side of the desk and most cases has the tempered glass on the left, it would be kinda of pointless. Also more ventilation by drilling holes or some sort.

I think that with that budget it will be better to go for a full new build, what about something like this?

CPU: Is the best reasonable CPU for gaming this days, the cooler is completly overkill but looks really nice and it's integrated with Corsair's iCUE LINK ecosystem. mobo is a really good mobo for the price, memory is the cheapest 6000MHz CL30 Corsair 2x16Gb with RGB, 990 pro is a overkill model and 4 tb are also overkill but why not? Same rationality behind the card that for the CPU, best reasonable. Case is the same you had, pretty good case. PSU is extremly overkill but a great great great PSU and with a lot of headroom for both oc and future upgrades, and fans are not really neccesary but look increidble and is same ecosystem.

You probably notice that there are a lot of overkill chocies, if u prefeer to spend more it's very easy to make it cheaper but i've tried to fill ur bduget.

I've just read ur recent post and i'd make some ventilation holes to that cabinet!

Oh and about gaming at 2K or 4K depend on what u want with this PC u are probably gaming at 4k nice in most games that said 1440p is very good quality and you'll get incredible fps.

I'm sorry if i made any spelling mistakes, i'm not an English speaker.

Ryzen 7 5700G @ 4.2GHz All Core. Aorus Elite V2. 2x8Gb 3600MHz CL17. Nfortec Aegir X. Nfortec Nervia.

Open to all suggestions 🙂

Insane waste of money on cooling, fans and board, with an old gen 5000 chip that'll bottleneck the 4080...

Also  wtf with an outdated 870 2.5" SSD ??

This will work better and cost way less

Why don’t you just get a test bench setup and install fans on the cabinet itself then?

I like the overkill! Probably going to swap out the case fans only cause I am wasting a little too much money on that. Everything else seems good. Going to dive a bit more into the AMD GPU and see what it's all about. I always was a team green but might have to switch. Thanks for the suggestion 🙂

Insane waste of money on cooling, fans and board, with an old gen 5000 chip that'll bottleneck the 4080...

Also  wtf with an outdated 870 2.5" SSD ??

This will work better and cost way less

LOL I'm realizing that now! Honestly didn't even think of the SSD. Just know about Samsung being reputable in 2.5" but never realized of how outdated it is. Definitely like this build!

That's what the forums are good for. You'd save a ton of money on case and fans too. And the PC wouldn't be choked for air. If you wanted to get real crazy with it you could work in some radiators and water cooling but that's a bit extra. If you went this route an air cooler would be perfectly fine just line it up with the airflow!

Team green right now is kind of dissapointing to me, that said they still offer the maximum performance (even if it is for an outrageous price and power consumption). 7900XTX is usually a little worse than a 4090 but better than a 4080, although it depends on games, it also doesn't have Ray Tracing or DLSS3, that said AMD is launching similar techonologies that may compit with nvidia... About the fans: YES, is a lot of money, but they have a really nice thing: iCUE LINK, the previous generation was iCUE which bascially was a conventional hub and an app which allowed you to change a lot of settings in all Corsair iCUE products, instead of that LINK allows you to connect fans together without cables, then connecting with one ssingle cable those fans to the AiO and that AiO to a hub... It's truly amazing although maybe not worth the cost. Here you can learn a bit more about it: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/s/icue-link

About the cabinet, i agree with @TylerD321 in which adding fans to the cabinet may be a good idea (even if you still have a case instead of a test bench) i'd recommend Noctua for that if they aren't gonna be seen or Corsair if they are gonna be seen. That said i think the ideal solution'd be to put out of that restricting cabinet ur PC and put in the table or in the floor or something like that.

Also thinking about more cool cooling 🙂 solutions, if u are feeling like a little bit of DIY you can create a custom water loop and put the radiators outside the case in the cabinet. I know it's a little bit stupid but i think it'd look and perform awesome. I'd use a bunch of ekwb stuff (or corsair if u are feeling like spending a lot) and maybe this pastrough with some quick disconnects: https://www.aquatuning.com/en/watercooling/tubing/tubing-accessories/wacz-watercool-pci-slot-pass-through-bracket. That said this idea is kind of difficult and probably not very functional so mayeb you also want to consider a custom loop but everything inside the case, in this case i'd also go with ekwb who has a pretty good configurator and pretty good prices also (Corsair also have a configurator but is expensier...). I personally like this guide: https://medium.com/@meohoh/an-ultimate-beginners-guide-to-pc-water-cooling-1dd4c68f1474, it may be helpfull to you. I've quickly made a sample configuration with the mobo i recommended: https://www.ekwb.com/custom-loop-configurator/shared/oW6582024dbd016. Notice it will be expensive and not super easy and you won't win a lot of performance it will be mainly for aesthetics. Something that will probably improve aesthetics and won't be neither as hard or expensive as watercooling will be custom cables, Cablemod is a shop in which they sell cables of different colours for different PSUs: https://custom.cablemod.com/b9a5abae8bfc i've made this my self with the PSU i recommended you, it's important to put the psu that you will finally, don't worry about the case, and i recommend you to wait for all components for measuring the cable length (i'd conserve the PSU included cables for future upgrades), notice that that the cables i did were just an example and actually look horrible, you can choose any color and anything... Other option purely for aesthetics (it will probably hurt a little little bit your performance) is to put the GPU vertically, for this (depending on your case) you will need an adapter. Also you will need a PCIe Riser (i recommend it is Pcie 4.0 or 5.0) maybe something like this.

I'm sorry if i made any spelling mistakes, i'm not an English speaker.

Else remove/cut the front panel of the furniture to get some air, with front fans as exhaust, and a fast spinning fan as rear *intake*

My setup is a bit similar to yours and temps are good with this fan setup

Decided I don't really need a lot of storage all at once. I can always add more later. Plus after reading reviews and watching video gameplay, the RX 7900 XTX is much better than the RTX 4080. Especially when IW9 launcher for Warzone is optimized for AMD.
