If your happy waiting, wait and see what its like.  Because it could be a big leap in performance but then it could also be not worth it.

I have to wait till august anyway as that will be when I have the funds to buy it.

Keep in mind that 8 core Haswell-E processor will be released at 999$ price point and others will be around 600$ mark... so unless you want the absolute bleeding edge Intel performance ~ it is not recommended.

I dont even feel alive until I hit 1.7Vcore :)

IMO Haswell-E is worth the wait unless you can get a smoking good deal on 2011 parts.

I'd be interested in seeing if one of the MOBO makers caved and announced an M-ITX Haswell-E board. Would be friggin' amazing to have a workstation that you can chug on a backpack without breaking a spine.

Yeah because the best way to utilize the best platform for PCIe lanes is to get a motherboard form factor with only one PCIe slot. Yay for bad ideas.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Your point? Just because it doesn't meet your specifications doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. There are quite a number of people who want and will buy an MITX LGA 2011 board, solely due to the amount of power that could be leveraged on the platform overall. And quite frankly, it would be more product for these companies to sell.

Please stop making us techies look like communists. :P

No it should not. Intel should make it's consumer platform (i5 and i7) at least 6 cores by now. But they are greedily clinging to their 4-core SKUs because their only competitor is still rubbing sticks together. The fact that you want an M-ITX LGA2011 board just means you have a natural need for CPU power that Intel isn't supplying you with because of their anti-consumer policies. And by wishing for such a product, you are saying you would throw more money at them to get around an artificial and arbitrary problem that exists because they want more money thrown at them.

And this is completely ignoring that the LGA2011 is physically too large to even base an M-ITX board on.

Thankfully, Intel and their board partners realize that a board that could only use 1/4th of the RAM and 1/4th of the PCIe lanes that the actual CPU can power would be a bad idea that probably only you and one other person would buy world wide.

Also keep in mind broadwell-e is sometime next year"late", so if you got spare cash go with a z97 for 2 years then upgrade to broadwell-e, that's what I'm doing and hopefully ddr4 is bugged out by then..
