Trying to find out if i need a new pump/reservoir. My temps are getting pretty high for a custom loop liquid cooling.

Currently right now i'm using a mini ITX setup.
CPU-AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU-MSI RTX 4090 Gaming X trio
Pump is EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 160 DDC PWM D-RGB - Plexi

240mm x 30mm x 120mm Radiator

My idle temps for my GPU is 35-37C

Underload gaming it gets up 87C-89C <- not normal for a liquid cooling PC
not sure what to do.

it is depending on the air being used. liquid cooling just basically moves the heat problem somewhere else away from the chip , the water still has to actually be cooled just the same however.

if you aren't using cold air and the fans aren't set high then it seems about right.

even if the GPU has a waterblock on it?

yeah a water block doesn't cool the water , it just transfers the heat from the gpu to the water. if the radiator isn't doing it's job because the air is hot or the fans aren't moving then it's going to run hot

Either a larger rad or adding a second rad of similar size (Or larger) in-line with the rest of your cooling system components will help.

In this case it comes down to the amount of heat produced vs what can be removed from the cooling system itself. If you aren't removing enough heat from the coolant you'll run into a heat buildup (Heat soak) situation in that heat will just build up and keep building until "Whatever" happens.

Higher CFM fans could help but in truth it's a simple matter of too much heat, not enough rad to remove it all.
