Hello!

I recently built my new pc and had problems because it wouldnt post.Eventually i found out it acted weird because i had 2 sticks of ram, even though i ahd them in the suggested slots as stated in my motherboard.

I tried to swap them with one another and move them to the other slots.Still no post.Ended up removing one of the sticks and i got post. Now comes the part that is even more weird. The only stick of ram that worked, only worked in my 3rd slot. That would be B1.My other ram wont work in any slot.Any idea what is up with that and how can i fix it??

Should probably mention at this point that the ram i have is 2x8 corsair vengance 3200mhz cl16.

Now for the next weird bit.So obviously ram isnt running at 3200mhz,but when i try to set it to 3200mhz in bios it will not post no matter what i do.The most i can get it to run at is 3000mhz.I copied setting from the web and still no post.My mb is the asus prime b55m-a (non wifi) and my cpu is the ryzen 7 5800x

Any help, with either the sticks not working at all or the memory speeds will be greatly appreciated!

Some Corsair Vengeance run terrible with Ryzen. What's the exact part number and version number of the RAM?

This is the most common kit of ram ever, I have personally used it in like 5 different computers, all Ryzen. Its definitely not something to do with compatibility.

Qoute my reply if you want me to answer back.

4.31 is Samsung B-die. Should be fine.

RAM must be in the 2nd and 4th slot from the cpu, slot A2 and B2.

Extremely extremely unlikely. Reseat the cpu first. That is the most common reason for ram slots not working. All it takes is 5 minutes and a screwdriver. If it is a new build, no need to redo the thermal paste.
