Farewel windows!

Lenovich

Sorry for the simplified English.

... Thank you for the best time in the 90s. Thanks for your gaming experience. Now it is time to say: You are the worst OS. I hope you will lose as many audiences as possible.

Windows is now the worst OS, not by user experience, performance, or anything software-related. There is something called ideology in modern computer-related software. You can have open-source projects and closed and controlled systems like macOS. And there are windows.

The Windows ideology is the worst of all. Let me explain.

First. As far as you might know, Intel CPUs and others have backdors; intel ME, for example. Windows itself is a giant back gate. This is not a problem at all; there is nothing to hide, nothing to worry about. Yes, but this is the root of modern Windows ideology.

Second, Windows does not belong to you. It will never help you get the job done. Microfoft sees you as a data and data slave. Google has done this with people for years and years—secretly listening to you, collecting data, etc. This is why Windows is literally free. You can pirate (list of illegal pirating methods)... Microsoft does not care; they just gain data profits, as Google does. Yes, knowing this allows you to live peacefully, which isn't a big deal. You are not archlinux paranoid.

Thrid. Upcoming subscription model. Yes, it is rumor. But you can see it is a test on the audience. All methods have already been tested in the "365" subscription model.

Fourth: data and AI manipulation. This is the upcoming future. Integration and AI assist in making your life simpler. Sorry, no, this has become a more dystopian theme than you can imagine. It is not just letting Ai read letters and find some. It is a way to offer you something that you do not want.

Fifth. Microsoft is a legit theft. I won't go into detail about. Thin Ice theme. Stole Minecraft from millon kids; what is the actual F. Microsoft?

For me, I'm going to sell my PC. And will be happy with Apple (acceptable kind of evil).

I understand your opinion regarding your migration to other OS, but for most people, usability and familiarity is more important, the same reason, somehow many company still use windows server, since its working for them. I currently running severly cut down version of Windows 11 Pro N edition with custom windows imaging tools configuration, which is disabling almost anything regarding telemetry and bloatware, so I can say I using it as almost bare as posibble, and that on top of that I running it under Proxmox VE, so its even more isolated. For most of my daily task, I running eiher manjaro or Mint VM on the same Proxmox instance. It is what it is I guess 😅

About usability. I am 30 years with windows machines, migration to macOS is seamless to me. What is strange latest macOS looks like powerful ipadOS.

windows 10 ltsc and probs windows 11 ltsc whenever the iso file becomes publically available to download should be alot better than the consumer versions with all the freaking bloat and telemetry in the background

I have w10 ltsc as the os on my 160gb secondary hdd for my testbench and for the still yet to be sold gaming pc on a 512gb sata ssd, ill look at linux later on but w10 ltsc is the next best thing for now

I agree that Windows has gotten worse (that's why I mostly use Windows 7) and should not collect the data it does.

However, I am a bit confused about your final decision.

A PC is more than it's operating system. It's hardware that can run many different operating systems and be upgraded (unlike Apple).

With Windows (or Linux for that matter) you can build and maintain your own PC.  You have a huge number of possible configurations at almost any price point.  With Apple, you over pay for their hardware (why do you think Apple stock does so well?).  I've been on Microsoft systems ever since MS-DOS and have used every single version of Windows.  I cannot think of a single software failure that I have had.  I do photography (Adobe is worse than Microsoft in terms of binding you to a subscription model) and use Office apps for work and financial analysis.  I have also held Microsoft stock for about 25 years and enjoy the dividends and capital accumulation.

Have fun with Apple.

Sorry no. For 1000 bucks you will never find a laptop with same specs. Batt lifetime, weight, screen resolution etc.

Thanks it is really fun 🙂
