I wouldn't get a 7800x3d if it means only getting a 4060 for the GPU.

OP, you'll probably want a much faster GPU.  Most games today leverage it way more than the CPU, especially at 1440p.  The 7600 is gonna be faster than the 11700k anyway.

I would consider looking into how you test if you get different results than all review sites. Even 7600 is faster in games than 12600kf on average.

No it's not.

GameGPU ranks its CPUs on 1% Low values instead of average values, meaning that according to them, 1% Low values are the most important.

The fastest AMD CPU is only 26% faster than the Intel 12600KF in these 1% Low values, a difference you can already partially close by using Clear Linux.

When you start tuning RAM and overclocking, the difference with the fastest AMD CPU (stock) becomes really small, especially for 1440p and 4k gaming.

Using clear linux makes 12600kf outperform 7800x3d in Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty? Just stop feeding misinformation already...

The average Linux system can outperform windows11 in Cyberpunk on AMD GPU's. Clear Linux can perform more than 10% faster than the average Linux system in specific games.

What is the only game with 300,000,000 sales again? I will just tell you that Linux is about 26% faster in Minecraft than windows11.

Linux is also more than 15% faster in World of Warcraft, another title with incredible revenue (many billions).

Let's check a third game with incredible sales:

I didn't say that Linux will close the gap completely in every game. I said something else:

...., a difference you can already partially close by using Clear Linux.

@The Hope Your Linux comparisons and references aren't going to be relevant to most people asking for build advice here. They are asking for hardware recommendations, not a pitch on what OS they should use. With respect, this kind of thing is why Linux users have a bad reputation.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Ok. I will just ask you three questions so you can discover the reality if you try and I'm talking about windows11.

#1 Can you calculate me the average difference in performance for 4K gaming between the 7800x3d and the Intel 12600KF in this link: https://wccftech.com/review/intel-core-i9-14900k-core-i7-14700k-core-i5-14600k-desktop-cpu-review-more-performance-same-price/6/

#2 What is the RAM frequency of my recommended build and the recommended build from brob?

#3 Which CPU architecture scales best with a RAM frequency above 6000MHz? (Intel Alder Lake or AMD Ryzen)

OS: OpenBSD -current WM: Polybar -- bspwm -- dmenu -- picom Components: Intel 12700KF -- G.SKILL RIPJAWS @4000 CL18 -- ASUS Dual Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB -- ASUS ROG STRIX B760-G GAMING WIFI D4 -- JONSBO Z20 black -- ARCTIC F14 -- bequiet! You are being ridiculous trying to compare performance between a CA$2200 Windows system and a CA$2,800 Linux system.

Any claimed performance differences are immaterial when the system is not affordable in this particular case.

If you want to proselytize, do so in the appropriate forum in your own thread.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

It was by accident that I got this high price.
