Hello,

When I play GTA V RP Server (Grand RP) and GTA in general, my CPU and GPU only go to about 50-60% utilised and won't go any higher, and I sometimes spike even though there is room to spare on both components, is there any settings I should have changed which may affect this?

I am aware I have minimal bottleneck as both are relatively similar in usage levels, but never go beyond 60%.

Specs:

I7-6700k

GTX 1060 6GB

4x256gb SSD

550w PSU

16gb ram

Thank you.

It ain't a mod, it's a side client of the game called grand rp, it uses GTA's game files but installs its own in the grand rp launcher folder

ok well i wouldnt expect a mod like that to have any sort of optimization so it makes sense that it would introduce significant software lag

Total CPU utilization says nothing about whether you're hitting a CPU bottleneck. A CPU bottleneck is almost always a single thread bottleneck. A 6700k has 8 logical cores (4 physical cores, with each of them counting as 2 due to hyperthreading), so 60% CPU utilization could mean 100% on one core (the one that is bottlenecking the system), and 50% load on the 7 other cores.

If you want to track it, the best way is to use something like Process Explorer (basically advanced task manager, is available for free from microsoft). With it you can view the CPU load of individual threads of a process in process properties. And if one thread of the game process is at 100/[logical core count]%, you're hitting a CPU bottleneck.

yeah, pretty much, since cpus have several cores overall usage is kind of meaningless, unless its literally 100%...
