Pc will not turn on

Need help! I wanted to test all my parts and what not before putting into case, hit the power and nothing happened except for a little light on my motherboard. What should I do?

(rx5700xt)

(b450 Aorus M)

(700w psu)

Remove everything but cpu, cooler, and motherboard power. Boot it by shorting the power pins (small screwdriver or paperclip to connect the power pins).

 

If you still get the same behavior, test the psu by doing the paperclip test. See pic below.

 

If you get psu to power on, but the mobo won’t turn on, most likely a bad motherboard. Could be cpu, but that’s more rare.
