Hello,

I'm currently running an Intel Core i7-10700K with a Noctua NH-D15 cooler and am noticing something a bit different with my running temperatures. Under idle load my temps are normal from what I've come to expect from my setup. Around 28-33 degrees C. Now historically when running high demand games such as Warzone, I've gotten used to seeing temps ranging from 55 to 65 degrees C under max load. Lately though I feel like the temperatures have started creeping up when gaming into the low 70's. Is this something I should be concerned about? I haven't re-applied thermal paste since I built the PC two years ago, so I'm wondering if that could be the culprit?

Overall setup:

Case: Corsair 4000D Mid Tower

CPU & Mobo: Intel i7-10700K on a Gigabyte Aorus Pro AX Z490

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

Ram: 64 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX

GPU: Radeon RX 6800XT

PSU: Corsair 750W

Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD + (2) 1TB WD HDD

What are the temperatures under an all-core load like Cinebench or Prime 95?

Temps when playing a game over time are kind of meaningless, because the circumstances of the game are changing from play session to play session. And as the game gets updated, how it uses the CPU even in identical circumstances can change. The actual culprit could be that after an update, Warzone now takes advantage of the 10700K better, which means the CPU works harder and thus runs hotter.
