in productivity it defo will, a bit less in games since you'll be gpu bottlenecked anyways

Budget (including currency): ~CAD300ish

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MSFS, Dirt, Lightroom, Photoshop, 3D software (very rarely)

Other details -

Hello, I have currently acquired the following parts :

  • Asus X670E-E mobo,
  • Crucial 4800mhz 16gb ram (2x8),
  • Amd 6700XT (from current build) - Looking to upgrade this maybe next year,
  • (might get a AX1200i psu from marketplace).

which processor should I go for on a relatively tight budget? Also just a note that I am in Canada so prices are higher for us, and I wouldn't mind springing for a used cpu. I mostly just game these days, stuff like msfs, dirt, many indie titles, nothing specific (but would love to try VR). I used to do 3D work (that's why I currently have a Z840) but it's not as regular as before so no point in keeping to slow hardware.

an r5 7600 is all that can fit in 300 CAD AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor (100-100001015BOX) - PCPartPicker

Then you could get some fans for 50 CAD

if you've only got limited money then don't splurge on that, unless it's a good deal

hmmm, from what I am seeing online, there's maybe 4 options, the 7600/X and 7700/X. Will a slight budget increase benefit me with the 7600X or maybe the 7700.

He's selling it for 180 right now, I'll see if he can bring it a little down but it still is a good deal.
