Did EA deserve this?

EA, The too good for steam company, has been attacked. If not the abysmal catastrophe of a game that was sim city, or the flamboyantly hated mass effect 3 ending, the people of the inter-webs will find something about EA to burn. They have done just that, as of right now I am still unable to connect to any bf3 servers after an apparent cyber-attack (not that I'd play it if I could connect). Yes, it seems as of late that Electronic Arts has found a knack in making people hate them. Do you think that these cyber wounds were self inflicted by the ubur successful and equally hated company, and were they deserved.
