Looks good, maybe upgrade to an i5 4670k with stock cooler though? And switch wd blue to Seagate Barracuda SSHD or add an SSD

Certainly! Looks like a solid AMD build which will serve you perfectly for 1080p gaming.

Im going to upgrade to a ssd in the future. Right now, i just want storage. Also the fx 8350 is on sale for 160 so i thought that would be the better deal.

Is there a better and cheaper alternative to the motherboard? I plan to oc and i wouldnt mind a cheaper mobo.

I've heard 970 is terrible for overclocking, so the pricetag on the gigabyte motherboard you chose seems to be the average price of a 990x/fx board.

I might just get the gigabyte. I was gona get the m5a97 but have also heard that the 970 chipset was terrible for ocing.
