Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: New high-end games(except Starfield)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): FHD, from ryzen 5 3600 to ryzen 5 5600x

Hey guys. I'm planning to update my GPU from RTX 2060 super to RTX 4060(or RX 7600)
Will my Ryzen 5 3600 be a bottleneck and should I upgrade to something better like 5 5600X or 5700X?

Umm, is your 2060 Super broken? According to TPU here, those cards are only 22% faster, on average. A pretty mild upgrade, I wouldn't bother.

It depends on the game, for many games: no. But, since you want to play new AAA games, yes, it can still be a bottleneck. There's no harm in trying your card first and seeing if it gives you the desired improvement.

The 3600 is still a decent CPU but upgrading to 5600x or 5700x will be quite benefitial in certain titles. Also dont focus always on the max framerate but the 1% lows / stutter frames marked in dark blue.  This is of course with a much powerful GPU than the 4060 or 7600.

Only you can judge if you find it worth spending money upgrading the CPU. This is a 3600 vs 5600 ( nonx ) benchmark video. See and decide 🙂

Just stick with the 3600. the 4060/7600 are so weak that they won’t have an issue with the 3600 in most games.

That said, you should NOT get a 4060 or 7600 as they are trash value. Try finding a 67xx xt for around the same price or a little less, or maybe even 6800/xt if you want a better upgrade

Thanks. But if upgrade to 6700 xt then I should update my CPU?

Eh, still could stick with the 3600 and if you notice disappointing performance then upgrade your CPU after. I don’t think it’ll need to be upgraded though.
