Windows 10 administrator problem.

robododzija

So recently my grandpa gave me an old pc from his office. It has an administrator account on it so whenever I try to download something, or change settings or stuff like that, it would ask for the administrator password (which I know). But it is really annoying and sometimes it denies access all together when I try to do stuff like change the password. So I figured out how to disable the administrator account but now when I try to do something like open a CD, it asks to “allow this app to make changes to your device?” But there is no yes button. Anybody know how to help?

I have had this issue with running software from disks too. It seems to be caused by Windows not working the best with older software.

Here is what I do:

Launch an administrator command prompt

Copy the file path. (Ex: "C:\Users\User1\Downloads\setup.exe" )

Make sure it looks something like this:

Hit enter. It should run the installer. Typically the setup.exe works better than the auto run.

If remains an issue with all programs give this a shot.

Add the current username to the administrator group. If there are no longer any users in the administrator group, there's gonna be an issue.
