Scaling on windows 8.1?

I received my samsung 4k monitor. for games its amazing but for desktop is strainful on eyes.  if i turn the scaling up to acceptable level on desktop it pretty much makes games fail. i remember hearing windows 8.1 is better for scaling . any truth to this?

Scaling is better but far from perfect in most cases. If you run into issues with apps looking blurry or behaving badly, you can disable the scaling in the app properties. :-)

well better helps lol did not know you can disable it. i may pick up 8.1 debating on it but that start menu yuck lol.  nothing actually gets blurry just say games dont work properly when the scaling is higher

is there a way just to set a few things to scale ? like bigger icons and my stream friends list?

is it alot better? and how do you disable  scaling for games? i realize you said app properties but can you be a tad bit more detailed? anyone else have an opinion?


as welll as i never really looked into scaling. does it  increase everything ? like it existentially just stretching everything.? so 3840 x 2160 at 150% scaling would it be liike running 2560 x 1440 or am i missing something?
