Budget (including currency): R10000-R14000

Country: South Africa

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Modern Casual Gaming

Other details: Existing parts: rx 6500 xt, i7 3700, B75MA-E33 Motherboard, 16GB DDR4 RAM,650W PSU. (I'm unsure on on what storage I have but I don't need to upgrade it. 1080p monitor 60hz.

What I want to upgrade: GPU something that will run modern games at 1080p at max settings comfortably above 60fps around like maybe 80fps just to be safe I've been looking at an rx 6700 or rx 7600.

CPU can be anything that will pair well with whatever graphics card I buy. I also need a new motherboard to pair with my cpu

I just want a good mid-range PC and that will be able to handle most modern games at 1080p at max settings. An example for games I want to play is like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring.

If that equates to £500 that is very little to worth with.

If you need a new GPU, you only have used market as the only option. New GPU's worth getting alone go start at £330+. No idea about SA used market, probs crap but you could try scavenge there for something.

In terms of looking at new, I'd probs get a 12600KF, B660, reuse your DDR4 memory and sit tight on the RX6500. Short term you might not see as much of an uplift compared to just getting a beefier GPU but this will set your PC for a much longer lifespan. Just get a decent B660 with good VRM cooling so in the future you could upgrade the CPU again to something like a 14700KF after a GPU upgrade in a year or two to a 5060 or 8700 or used RTX 4070TI/7800XT.
