Good afternoon Team LTT,

My name is Lutchianno Cijntje and I am reaching out to you with a technical challenge I am currently facing. Normally, I resolve technical issues on my own, but this time, I would like to seek the expertise of the best tech channel out there.

I have three Samsung Odyssey Ark Monitors; two models from 2022 and one model from 2023. My PC is equipped with an RTX3080TI graphics card. I am trying to connect my PC to these monitors but am encountering some problems.

The 2022 model monitors each have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, while the 2023 model has 2 HDMI 2.1, 1 HDMI 2.0, and a DP 1.4 port (if I recall correctly). When I use an HDMI to DP cable to make the connection, I do see the MSI logo appear during startup, but nothing is displayed afterward. None of the three monitors seem to register the connection.

I have tried various solutions including using an active HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, but to no avail. I am very curious if you have any suggestions or recommendations on how to resolve this issue.

I greatly appreciate your time and expertise and am looking forward to your advice.

Warm regards,

Lutchianno Cijntje

What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Are you able to get display with only one display plugged in?

Why are you doing this? Why not simply go DP? What happens when you remove this converter? What model are you using and are you sure that it supports HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4?

ask me about my homelab

If it displays the BIOS logo but then goes dark it probably goes out of range of the monitor or adapter. I would guess the adapter can't support the resolution and/or refresh rate. Not quite sure how to fix that. Perhaps you could try to boot up without the adapter, on the same output, and lower the resolution and then try the adapter again.
