NVME drive 100% activity with no reads/writes

I have recently(within the last month) started having an issue with a Kingston NV2 drive (SNV2S2000G). It show 100% active time in task manger with no transfer rate. I've seen the problem while playing forza horizon 5 and mario kart 8 deluxe in ryujinx. I haven't noticed a problem in CS2. The read/write speeds are normal when the drive eventually decides to work. I have never seen the drive get above 50C and from what i've read 70C is acceptable.

 

The drive is installed in the top slot of a ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING.

If the controller temp is like in idle, and no transfer visible. And when actually using it it’s ok, then I would guess task manager just bugged.

 

if you look it up, there are people with exactly the same problem with NV2.

i would ignore it, but do remember to always have a backup, as SSD fail usually without any warning signs.

when task manager shows 100% usage the drive is inaccessible. games i try to load from it stay in the loading screen until task manager doesn't show 100%. Its only a game drive so i'm not worried about losing any data. The drive is still under warranty so i might try to get it replaced. I was mostly thinking it was a software issue

Ohh, then contact kingston, it could be it’s having hard time reading the old data. 
 

you could also try to update the firmware if it's available for it, bud do a backup before it ( i once lost all data on samsung SSD, when updating ).
