Hello all, I recently built my first PC with an MSI B550 gen 3 motherboard and I’m currently having issues installing Ethernet drivers, I’ve searched far across the reaches of both google and YouTube, watched countless troubleshooting videos on how to install/update Ethernet drivers for my motherboard to no avail, in device manager on my PC there is no “Ethernet controller” listed anywhere and trying to install Realtek Ethernet drivers grants me the message “The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable.” I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or if I’m missing anything, but any and all help would be massively appreciated, I even went as far as to try and install intel Ethernet drivers to no avail

My motherboard has an Ethernet port but Ethernet doesn’t seem to be supported right out of the box, I’m trying to install drivers to no avail and there aren’t any Ethernet controllers listed and searching on google or YouTube is hopeless

To be clear, you did try installing the drivers from the official MSI website, yes? https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B550-GAMING-GEN3/support#driver

If that doesn't work, I would try either digging around in the BIOS to see about enabling the Ethernet, or just doing a factory reset on your motherboard from the BIOS. It could be that, somehow, the Ethernet port got disabled. A factory reset should turn it back on.

If the factory reset doesn't work, you can try manually resetting the CMOS by jumping the pins on the motherboard.

If all that doesn't work, it's possible that your motherboard is faulty - that the Ethernet port just doesn't work. In that case, you should probably exchange it for a new one.

Yeah I did try the drivers from the website and they didn’t work, along with downloading the same drivers from the actual Realtek website, I had a look in the BIOS and the port shows up but doesn’t actually show that I have anything plugged into it even though my Ethernet cord is plugged right into the port, I will try a factory reset tomorrow when I have more motivation to troubleshoot. I really hope it’s just disabled by default and I just need to enable it in the BIOS
