Budget (including currency): $500-$1,000

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I currently have a prebuilt Cyberpower pc that I'm looking to upgrade my components every so often. I've been struggling to decide where to start. I was thinking of upgrading to a 4070 or 4080, i7-13700k or i9-14900k, better case, or upgrading the motherboard & ram together to a Z790 & DDR5. Overtime I'd like to do all the upgrades but just not sure where to start. Below is a list of my current setup. Thanks in advance for any input.

CPU- I7-12700KF

CPU Cooler- 240mm radiator

Motherboard- MSI Pro Z690-A

RAM- 4x8 G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3200 CL16

GPU- Gigabyte 3070 Eagle OC

Case- Cyberpower Amethyst II

Storage- 2TB Samsung 990 Pro & 2 1TB Samsung 990 Pro

Power Supply- EVGA 800 GD

Monitor- Gigabyte M27Q 1440P

Upgrade the gpu and call it a day.

My budget for now would be $500-$1,000 and then the same for future upgrades in a few months. The case & 4070 would be a good place to start. I'll definitely check out that case.

my question would be if you even need to upgrade the PC, or are you just upgrading for the sake of upgrading?

perhaps GPU could be a first thing, depends what games you play or what you do on it,

because a better thing could be to wait if intel or AMD changes socket again, to then jump on that if it's any good along with a Case upgrade because if you're upgrading CPU and MB you might aswell upgrade the Case,

or in short, just get a better GPU at least one that your PSU can handle

I second this, i7 1200kf is more than enough. I was getting ~130 fps with a 5820k from almost a decade ago. I would get a 4090 and enjoy it for quite a while!

Shipping sucks
