Hi.

I need some help picking a new IPS display, can someone help me ?

I'm wondering if an IPS diplay (the LG IPS224V) with a 14ms response time good enough to play Minecraft ?

If not is the Asus MX239H good enough ?

BTW:I'm also coding and watching YouTube videos.

Thanks for the help.

14MS is pretty darn slow, the asus would be a better choice.

The asus PB238Q would also be an excellent choice.

I game on as ASUS IPS with their 5ms response time and it is glorious.

It may not provide a very intimate gaming experience, but I'm not sure how much you will notice it for internet surfing.

I would recommend looking for 8ms or lower in an ips monitor.

14ms isn't darn slow/ You have to look at the real life response time.

It's obviously not the greatest, but if you are on a tight budget, and you play RTS and games like Minecraft, and work the monitor is perfect.

However. if you are not on budget, get the Dell U2312HM or U2412M (same as the other one by 16:10) or ASUS PB238Q, which are faster panels and better. Also has a 0 wobble stand, solid, and fully adjustable stand. Colors are a bit better too.

I just bought my 27IN Monoprice 1440p it's for $470 and I love it so far. It has a 6ms response time all the inputs and it is a grade A1 LG panel with guaranteed perfect picture and pixels. Also I was able to OC it to 75hz.Dont know what your budget is but I thought I would mention it.

I've got an Asus PB238q, and I love it. It i great for gaming and handles everything I throw at it perfectly. My favorite part is probably the very ergonomic stand that comes with it. Here's a link for the lazy: http://www.amazon.com/Series-PB238Q-23-Inch-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00906GBBC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368317651&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+pb238q

I would argue that if you are on a budget you'd be better off looking in to a higher end TN panel than a bottom of the line IPS.

Bottom of the line is always a bit sketchy.
