I am getting ready to install an SSD in an older system that I have, but I just checked the BIOS, and there is no option for AHCI mode. Can I still use the SSD without AHCI mode, and if so, will there be any issues, and will I still be able to use TRIM? Just FYI, the motherboard is the XFX MB-N780-ISH9.

Thanks for your help.

You can still use it, it's just very recommended you do to get the advertised speed. (especially 4K-64K benchmarks that you'll do). AHCI isn't necessary for TRIM, atleast not on WIN7.

I love StarCraft
