Upgrading my GPU

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Ram: Single stick Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 2400MHz (planning to get another stick soon)

Motherboard: AMD Ryzen B350 Tomahawk 

Power supply: Cool Master MWE Bronze 600
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 520 

You can see why I want to upgrade the GPU. The 520 is just a placeholder for now.  I'm not concerned about the price of a new graphics card very much. I'm just looking to get an idea of what is out there and what would make sense for my computer.

What do you do with the GPU? And if gaming, at what resolution?

Based on your machine's state, get a Radeon RX6600 or 6600XT is what looks to make sense to me.

Without knowing what resolution you're gaming at, I'd recommend amd RX 6600 series.

 

If you're at 1440P, maybe consider RX 6700 series, depending on local pricing. 

 

I'd also recommend upgrading to dual channel DDR4 (2x8gb or 2x16gb), and I'd advise replacing your current stick with faster ram like 3200MT/s or 3600MT/s

I'd say the better question is what games do you play/plan to play

Like @NavyCobra1417said faster ram would be nice but it looks like you are on an extremely limited budget so another 8GB stick of the same ram although not ideal it wont be terrible.

 

as to what you might look to buy as said above something like an RX6600 or RX6600XT would be a good for that CPU or if you prefer Nvidia then an RTX3060.

 

I'm going to assume you play at 1080P and don't have a specific game requirement.

 

There's also some decent used buys if you want something cheaper , RTX2060 Super etc.
