You dont have to upgrade your motherboard, nor that you will easily be able to find a motherboard that supports a 12 year CPU nowadays. Just make sure your powersupply is adequate and upgrade your graphics card.

If it has PCIe slots (full size), it will support the GPU

Although, I would suggest considering a full rebuild at this point as that CPU is very old and likely to limit the performance of any modern GPU.

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Trust but Verify! I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Please try to be clear and specific, you'll get a better answer. Please remember to mark solutions once you have the information you need. Expand this signature for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components.

Common build advice:

1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticeably improve performance past 240mm and don't improve at all past 360mm. 9) RTFM.

As long as your motherboard has a full size PCIE slot, it will.

Ok, another question. My current motherboard is a DH61WW and i want to upgrade it because i may be getting 32GB ram (i stream sometimes) and the DH61WW motherboard only is capable of max 16GB Ram. Is there any motherboard that supports an I7-2600, has a full PCIE slot, and support more than 16GB of ram?. I also probably should had said this earlier- but i have NO knowledge about computer stuff. Im the opposite of a computer nerd

I wish i could rebuild it but im only 15 and my parents buy the stuff. They also have me and 6 other kids to look after so we strapped on money- and CPU's are so expensive

You honestly dont need to upgrade your RAM to stream anything, as that task is usually not that RAM intensive. That motherboard only has two DDR3 DIMM slots and regular DDR3 ram can be only 8GB per DIMM so you wont be upgrading your RAM to 32G with that motherboard. I would highly recommend just saving up for a new computer at this point.

The GPU will work on your board, or any that has PCie (not AGP or PCI from the 90s lol), but you should think about upgrading your very old and weak CPU anyway

No. First of all that is an AM4 socket motherboard which strictly supports AMD AM4 socket CPUs. You have an LGA1155 socketed Intel CPU from 2011. You cant use Intel CPU on AMD motherboard or vice versa, you also cannot use different socket CPUs on different motherboards.

As I said, save up for a new system.

I'm serious, if you're going the whole hog and upgrading everything, you might as well upgrade the CPU as well, otherwise it's going to be a massive bottleneck to the system. Doesn't have to be the latest gen, but look into 10th or 12th gen CPU which should be going cheap now
