gpu wont work

This is my first build I have a msi b550 gen 3 and a amd 5600g and the gpu is a amd radeon xfx swift rx6600 ive installed everything properly i have changed pcie slots and all i get are the fans turning on the gpu shows up in device manager and im just lost on what to do

Is your monitor plugged into the GPU? Or did you plug it into the motherboard's ports and are using the 5600G's iGPU?

when I first started up the computer I was using the integrated graphics in the cpu while I waited for the gpu to arrive I did switch the hdmi port into the gpus port but it dose nothing @Eigenvektor

Check in the computer's BIOS, maybe it is set to use the iGPU exclusively. Otherwise, my guess would be the GPU is simply DOA.

Is the GPU new or used? Did you previously have a different GPU installed in the system? Did you check that the power connector is connected properly? When you say "it does nothing" what do you mean, the computer lights up but there is no video output when plugged into the GPU?

Check device manager - display adapters, Radeon HD graphics, disable it, don't uninstall it. And make sure to update your gpu driver from the manufacture website or the amd website, or right click desktop and amd  radeon settings.

What's the brand and model of the PSU?

 

Is the PSU connected to the GPU with a PCI-e connector?

Well if it shows up in device manager, install the AMD driver software suite for it.

its a thermal take 700w 80 plus and yes but it has a dual 6+2 pin pcie connector

its new and i was using the cpu integrated graphics at first and yes everything else turns on besides the video output the fans on it turn on and when I turn the computer off the light on the gpu flashes and then shuts off

Have you gone to the AMD website and downloaded and installed the latest drivers?
