my third choise is  ASUS M5A97 2.0.. for 161 NZD

im more or less looking for "is it worth" spending that extra money or should i save for more preformance somewhere else?

I try to stick with MSI, Gigabyte or ASUS.

The big three are usually safe.

I've heard some interesting (not good) things about Asrock so I've avoided them completely.

- Silverstone TJ08B-E - Gigabyte Z87M-D3H - i7 4770k @ 4.0GHZ 1.2v - 16gb Kingston HyperX Black 1600 - Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 4GB -

- Silverstone Fortress FT02 - MSI Z77 Mpower - i5 3570k @ 4.0GHZ 1.09v - 8gb Mushkin Blackline 1600 - MSI GTX 670 PE -

- Lenovo T430 (1600x900) - i5 3210m - 8GB DDR3 1333 - nVidia NVS5400M - 256GB mSATA OS - 320GB HDD-

ohh okay, the ASrock i was looking at had all the bits and pieces i need and was just wondering if it was worth spending that 115 on it.. as a bonus it will also fit right in with my case since my theme is black and white

I'd avoid the Asrock if you can, their more premium boards are good but not the low end ones.

Then the gigabyte and Asus are pretty much neck and neck. I'd personally buy the Asus for the aesthetics but we'll not harp if you go with the gigabyte to save a little cash for cm hyper 212+ ;)

I would go with the Asus motherboard because it has front USB 3.0 header.

The asus and gb boards will both be fine, it's really up to preference, but yeah as others have said I would avoid asrock boards.

Think of them as chinese baby formula. Cheep, could be okay, but could give your children lead poisoning.
