Used dt 1990 broken?

I got used dt 1990 from eBay few months ago and when l just replaced my headband saw the wire is messed up? Am screwed? don't hear crackling or anything odd. Thanks!

Yeah that isn't promising, if there's no channel imbalance/ crackling then i wouldn't worry about it. Or just not buy Beyerdynamic headphones and look into similarly priced alternatives (that list is pretty big)
