Hey! So I am in a little bit of a pickle here. I want to buy the lian li strimer rgb cable for my current 4070ti but which one? There are so many different ones and I am confused. Im probable upgrading my 4070ti tuf at some point to a 4080/4090 so would be cool if I didnt need to buy another cable then.

Psu being used is Corsair RMX 1200 swift atx 3.0 if that helps at all.

Thank you so much if one of you knows the correct one!

Either 3x8pin to 12+4pin or 12+4pin to 12+4pin should do.

But if you want the most minimal cable run for that PSU. It will be the 12+4pin to 12+4pin, pick whichever light guides version that you fancy.

12 Light Guides just means a wider RGB module (12 lines of RGB lights instead of just 8).

3x8pin to 12+4pin :

PSU -> 3x PCIE cables -> Strimer 3x8pin to 12+4pin

12+4pin to 12+4pin :

PSU -> Corsair's 12VHPWR cable -> Strimer 12+4pin to 12+4pin

edit: I forgot RMx SHIFT includes Corsair's 12VHPWR to 2x8pin PCIE cable.

Does corsair including the cable change your answer at all? Im currently looking at the 3x8 to 12+4 since the store Im buying from has that in stock. Would it be fine to leave one of the 3x8 hanging or how does that work?

Before edited I wrote that using 3x8pin to 12+4pin is the shortest & less cable run since it doesn't require using NVIDIA's adapter.

The rundown :

IF You use 12+4pin to 12+4pin WITHOUT Corsair's 12VHPWR cable :

PSU -> 3x PCIE cables -> NVIDIA Adapter -> Strimer 12+4pin to 12+4pin

Cable & adapter count : 3x PCIE cables (65cm), Nvidia's bulky adapter(no idea how long maybe around 15cm), strimer (38cm)

Length total : 118cm

IF You use 12+4pin to 12+4pin WITH Corsair's 12VHPWR cable :

PSU -> Corsair's 12VHPWR cable -> Strimer 12+4pin to 12+4pin

Cable & Adapter count : 2x PCIE cables (Corsair's 12VHPWR splits into 2 separate cables on PSU side, 65cm), Strimer (38cm)

Length total : 103cm

3x8pin to 12+4pin :

PSU -> 3x PCIE cables -> Strimer 3x8pin to 12+4pin

Cable & adapter count : 3x PCIE cables (65cm), Strimer (38cm)

Length total : 103cm

While I know case #2 and #3 above basically have same total length, it just that the #2 more potential to be less "bulky" when it comes to total cable mass.

Although #3 have better adaptability when it comes to the possibility of using PSU that doesn't have it's own brand's 12VHPWR cable.

Since it allows user to use the strimer cable with a PSU that doesn't have a 12VHPWR cable, WITHOUT needing NVIDIA's adapter.

Not like I ever used a strimer before, but logically it should be fine to leave one unused, since essentially strimer cable is just an extension cable that has a light strip strapped onto it.

So it's like strapping an RGB led strip to a PCIE cable.

The light strip alone is powered using external power (meaning, it doesn't take power to light it straight from the PCIE terminal(connector) it's strapped onto)
