help upgrading

I got a gtx 1060 from a friend that he hasn't used and i tried to replace my quadro k2200 with it but when i booted up my pc it just had a dark screen.

you quadro doesn't have any power connectors on it.

 

A 1060 does.  Did you plug in the power cord to the top of the GPU?  (It won't work without that being plugged in.)

i have no idea but im wondering if its because of the psu or it could be the issue listed in the image below.

What CPU do you have, and what model PSU is it, wattage is the PSU?

i forgot the model of the psu but im pretty sure its 300 watts and my cpu is an i5-4690

300W might be enough to run the GPU and system, but that's not leaving a lot to spare.

 

Is it like an HP or Dell box or something?  Or is it a PC built from parts?

i got a 6+2 connector and its like the image below with the 2nd connector also having a +2

that can't be right on a 300W PSU

Those to connectors would push more power than the entire PSU is rated to run
