So recently I tried to install an ssd along with my hdd, then my desktop froze and I removed the ssd and it went back to normal. A few days later now my dekstop froze again. My mouse still moves but I can't click on anything.

So I shift shutdown to recovery environment and tried sfc and it could not complete the action. I did the trick with command prompt and notepad to check my files and they picked up, so I quickly backed up my important files and used diskpart.

It shows disk 0 as 1tb and 0b free space. It boots up normally still at the sign in screen and I can use my pc for a minute before it freezes. I checked bios and the temps are stable at 35'C about. Ram picks up at 16gb, my 2 ram sticks.

My cpu is less than a year old, ram the same and the harddrive. But my motherboard is like 8 years old and my psu 6 years. Also I downloaded Fraps before it started freezing and it did the first time playing minecraft.

I'm currently doing a system restore from the 1st of this month before I downloaded a bunch of programs I found that would help me in my job as a trainee IT technician, so it could be that. Any suggestions would be helpful. Hd sentinel also showed 100% health before this.

System restore seemed to fix the problem, I did sfc again and it worked fixing corrupt files, I also noticed in task manager windows module installer was causing 100% disk usage but it went away after sfc was done. I'll just wait and see if it freezes again. Should I use DISM as well?
