Monitor calibration - how many nits of brightness should one set?

The software from my tool wants to calibrate on 120 nits. Videos online show monitors having way more (I believe my 32GK650F does 350+).

Should I keep the calibration and 120nits or should I calibrate on something higher, like 200 or 300?

The system is used for gaming, youtube, and multimedia consumption.

Its like asking which color is better. Use whatever you prefer.

If I remember right SDR content is mastered to 100 nits so I would guess that is why the software defaults to something around that value. As said above though, pick something that suits your preference and environmental lighting. I would only care deeply about the specific details if it is for professional work.
