Do not use any cable that did not come with your PSU. They are not compatible.

What's the brand and model of the PSU and what CPU and GPU do you want to power with it?

 

8 pin on the PSU side is usually for CPU and GPU. Don't put a sata/molex cable in there!

The cable might physically fit but it could be wired completely differently. Not worth the risk. 

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
