I keep getting a post code of 0d on a nas project that I’m currently working on the build is a threadripper 1950x with a asus rog x399 E gaming motherboard I’ve updated the bios and I’ve reseated the ram I’m concerned that the cpu may be broken because it was second hand off of eBay and when it came it had thermal paste on the pads but before I try to get a refund I want to know if there is anything I haven’t tried

Do you have the AMD torque wrench?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

That's a large CPU that is very sensitive to mounting pressure and what order you torque the screws in. I'd put money on it not being properly mounted before it being a bad CPU.

1.5 N/M is the torque spec for the screws. Do the far single screw first and you should have better luck with your mounting pressure.

Buy one or another small torque wrench. Or borrow someone else's small torque wrench.
