Problem with virtualization audio with Windows XP - Windows Hyper-V

I'm just getting started with virtualization for running 32-bit XP for retro gaming, so please forgive me if I get anything wrong or miss anything obvious.

I'm using Windows's Hyper-V, I have the XP ISO loaded and I cannot get audio out.

Because I need 32-bit OS, I chose Generation 1 in the settings, and everything I can google relating to troubleshooting relates to either Generation 2 VMs or non-virtual XP.

I've been through the settings and figured out how to pass through my DVD drive, but didn't see anything related to audio there.
