Getting crazy regarding having two monitors (Windows)

So every time my monitors goes to saving mode (sleep mode) after i touch a button and screen wakes up, it flashes several times for about 3-5 seconds, then its all clear, until I get "Gsync activated" via Nvidia and it flashes a few times more after like 10 seconds, making it impossible to use the computer 15-20 seconds after I wake the monitors, this is really dumb for being in 2023, I can clearly see the screens are showing everytning correctly after ONE flash/blackout, not needing like 10 of them to make it all work

Why is this, and how do I make the monitors only flash ONCE?

Some monitors are programmed with flaky routines while others are subject to any small interference.

It would help to know more about your setup, btw.

Oh, certinly, I have
LG 27" UltraGear 27GP83B QHD Nano IPS 165Hz as primary
and
Acer 27" Predator XF270H 144Hz as secondary

That one should be the higher quality monitor. Did you try to use only that one and disconnecting the ACER ?

I don't know if they upgraded their quality check but ACER gave me my worst experiences in computer hardware. Like I said, maybe they changed. And if you plug only that one, does the issue persist ?

Knowing a bit about your computer may help too, especially the GPU model.

Have a nice day !

If I only have my primary monitor plugged in, no, it does not do the same weird flickering.
But it neither does it when I only have my second monitor plugged in, so its something when they both are connected

I have i7 12700KF and 32GB DDR4 RAM, ROG STRIX Z690-A and RTX 2080 Super

I have 2 monitors.. one samsung odyssey G7 32inch and one dell 3007..  they flip around and flicker .. but i've turned off all powersaving feature so the monitors never turn off.

that was the only way to avoid similar problems.

Now, we're going somewhere 🙂

There is clearly something going between the two monitors. Here are a few things you can try :

  1. Plus the two monitors on a different electrical circuit (circuits using a different breaker in your distribution panel). You can use an extension cord for that test since not all rooms have two circuits.
  2. Make sure that the two video cables are as far away from each other to reduce the chance of signal interference.
  3. Try using different ports on the GPU. Also, try using different kinds of ports (HDMI, DP, DVI, etc.) is your monitors and cables allow so.
  4. Try switching refresh rate of your monitors so they match. You can try 60Hz for both and go up until the issue reappear.
  5. Try the monitors with another computer to see if they behave the same way.
  6. Good luck !
