Ethernet trouble

Today my desktop stopped wanting to connect to the internet via my Ethernet cables, it detects the network, it just doesnt gain internet access. Its not a cable issue, it works for my laptop

 

Any suggestions?

I assume you've tried the tried and true method of restarting?

i did, but i forgot to do the other tried and true method of just letting it be on for an hour and suddenly it works again

Are you plugging direct to mobo if you have that option or a NIC card?
