I own both and the C2 is miles better. If he gets the C2 pro he gets qmk (ability to bind keys to whatever you want) better keycaps, better rgb, better switches, ability to change the switches, keycaps that aren't rare to buy. You can also mod the keyboard to something really good if you want etc...

No need for the thermal compound. New CPU coolers come with it.

 

I'm not a fan of the case. I prefer mesh front cases for better cooling.

 

An air cooler will do as good or better job cooling the cpu.
