Go to solution Solved by Spakes,

It will be enough. NH-D15 is more than plenty for 7800X3D, so AK620 should be, too.

Will an AK620 zero dark be enough for 7800x3D or I should go for a liquid cooler

AMD's Wraith Prism stock cooler they used to include with the Ryzen 9s is good enough for the 7800X3D, it just doesn't need anything fancy as it draws next to no power. The AK620 will be borderline overkill, and water is completely unnecessary.

Whatever happened to the Prism?  I would have loved to snag one for my 5600 chip 😞  Like how they looked.

Water is good if you want to have a sweet signature block on the forums tho. Don't discount the epeen factor or the groupies.  Love the AIO groupies.

I don't really know, it was a really good stock cooler. I've somehow managed to get a collection of them though, they are fantastic coolers for quick testing stuff, both on Intel and AMD (more AMD than Intel, though with gravity they're usually good enough to get into Windows and browse the internet).

I'm pretty sure the Max/Prism was more common the the Wraith Spire and its RGB version.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I think they dropped them for Zen 3 because it is a completely different animal when PBO is activated, when compared to Zen 2.

Or the Phantom Spirit.

Note: Scythe makes the Fuma 3.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.
