Well, no budget? If you have unlimited budget, you can buy a really high end setup.

Like modmic and some quality grade headphones. There are also cheap but great options out there, like pioneer se-a1000. Really, for less than 100$ you can have great setup.

I recommend Sennheiser PC 350 SE.  Love mine.  Basically HD380 Pros with a mic.  Very Clear and Accurate sound for a closed back.  Bass is present and subtle, but not super powerful. some may find it weak. But Great for games in general. Like FPS.

 

Personally want to try Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros and/or V-Moda's since they have a add on in-line mic that can be removed. Best of both worlds Headset/Headphone wise IMO.

 

Sennheiser for sure if you only want a headset.  They are pricey (at MSRP) but worth while IMO since they just take a Headphone they make and add a mic built in on it. I got mine off Amazon Warehouse Deal for $128 back when their was a sale.
