So i have my cpu heatsink and fan mounted but im not happy with its orientation. if i take it off and rotate it do i have to remove the thermal paste and reapply or because its fairly fresh (bout 2days) i can just rotate everything and tighten it down and not worry about the paste?

Thanks In Advance :)

Yeah you can do that without any problems. Which CPU cooler are you using? If it has a detachable fan mount, you don't need to remove the heatsink at all.

What is the current orientation? All air coolers should be mounted front to back, and not bottom to top. If it's mounted front to back, leave it. Otherwise you are just going to be sucking up hot air from by your GPU. If you have it bottom to top, then you should change it and you will need to replace the thermal compound when you do that. Any time that heatsink is removed for any reason, the thermal compound should be reapplied.

FYI it doesn't matter which way cooler is oriented. It does it cooler would be right next to GPU. But if there's one PCIex1 slot between cooler and GPU temps don't really change that much. For me it was 2C lower when its pulling towards top. It also depends on how case fans are mounted. With dual exhaust on top it would be more efficient to have CPU cooler blow air towards top.
