Hello I have old combo of asus P8Z68-V LX with I5-2500k.

So Now i am wondering, how I should overclocked my CPU. It supposedly run at 3.3GhZ base speed but I want to hit it up to 4.5Ghz. After seeing multiple video of overclocking this cpu. Some of the guy OCed it in BiOS. But some of it just using software to do it. I wondering if i should just OCed it in bios or just using the software. Which more is reliable and give more performance? BTW i am new to OCing. Please give your software suggestion if you think it better

Thank you

What cooler?

Id aim for 4.6-4.8ghz

Set multiplier to 48

Set cpu voltage to 1.375v

LLC disabled

Btw what kinda rams you have? That mobo tops out at around 2200 which most rams should be capable of because of how pathetically slow 2200 is, you simply set 21.33 ram multi and 103 bclk, tune voltage and ram timings accordingly
