So my rig is not that power hungry Ryzen 5 5600 with 1660 Super but I've been running the GPU with an adapter 2 x Molex to 8pin for a month now and I knew from the start that was not a good idea but now I want to change that.

I was thinking of getting a 750W Gold rated PSU I still don't know from what brand and that's where you guys come in.

What PSU has the best price to performance has 750/850W is around $100 - 120? Is a gold rating good enough, or should I go with platinum or maybe even silver if others are overkill?

I don't plan on upgrading any time soon and if I did I would probably get a different GPU like 6700XT or something similar.

Any suggestion is welcome, thank you in advance 🙂

Corsair RM750x. I don't know what's with Amazon pricing, but elsewhere it's around $110 and a great unit. Gold rating is plenty.

Silver, Gold, Platinum these are simply power efficiency rating. Most power supply now are atleast Gold i think?. It doesn't mean the PSU will always be good quality.

And the level goes from Bronze > Silver > Gold > Platinum > Titanium

Lots of local retailers are putting "2018 EDITION" into the description is that a bad thing?

Is there any significant difference between this model with "e" and the other mentioned with "x" at the end?

Also, AFAIK the RMX 2018 is the edition as they released in 2018, there is a 2021 model which features Magnetic Levitation fan, although it might also be more expensive.

Yeah if the levitation fan is the only thing that changed I would rather go for the cheaper option especially if the sound is the only benefit.

Heard/seen somewhere that the 2021 version is actually a bit more noisier than the 2018 version at high load.

In the PSU tier list link I gave you there should be some models that has underline under the name, click and you'll see what the reviewer thought of the pros & cons.

Keep note of the small numbers on some models too, as that may provide more info if there's some kind of defect or problem with that particular model that may or may not have been fixed.

Even better at my case xd. One more question the brand that is widely spread in my region is LC power any experiences?

No, this is the first time I ever heard of it. Although me living somewhere in Asia might have played a part.

There is some LC power models in the PSU tier list link I gave

Corsair has made different revisions that just continues to improve that series. The 2018 series is still a good series to buy and nothing wrong with it.
